The best burger in Egypt is RubyTuesday and maybe the best hamburger ever!

I know, this blog is not about food, it is about Internet Security, but honestly I could not help myself. Those that know me, know that I really have two passions, computers and food. The latter is the main reason why I weigh nearly 120 Kilograms. I know it is bad for me, but honestly I love food. And so when my taste buds tried the RubyTuesday's Hamburger ( beefburger really ) in the Citystars mall in Cairo, I could not contain myself and had to write about it.

It is really the best burger I have tasted in Egypt and all my travels. I can not say that I am a well traveled man, but when I conclude that this is the best burger I have tasted in my life and that I have been to USA, UK, Lebanon, Cyprus, Greece, Kuwait and in each country I have tried burgers then my words do carry some weight. Of coarse I only visited these countries and have not tasted every burger in each, which although impossible in my life time, but coming to think of it that would be a nice way to dedicate a life time, if only I had a few of these to spare.

In Egypt it is hard to find a good burger, let alone the perfect burger. In Egypt you usually have fast food burgers, that are well,uum, fast food, and you find fine restaurants that have a burger dish added as an afterthought. Egypt does not have any place that specializes in upscale burgers, that is the burger Egypt situation is not that cool.

Coming back closer to home, I can say, that I have tried every burger I could in Egypt. The thing is I love burgers, I am the kind of man that if you give him a choice between a juicy steak and a juicy burger I would choose the burger every time, so I can say with confidence that I am an expert in the burger Egypt scene :).

The burger that I tasted in RubyTuesday in Egypt, in City Stars, was amazing because each layer was amazing. The buns where like how clouds would taste like if they where edible, it was fluffy yet it had substance, a perfect balance of flavor, enough that it adds to the taste of the burger but not too much that it overwhelms the hamburger with its taste. The garnish was equally stellar, the onions where fresh and had a kick to them, the tomatoes where perfectly ripe, giving both sweet and sour taste to their fresh texture.

But the real king was the patty or rather the burger itself. It was divine, a slightly crunchy exterior that leads you as you bite in, to the softest and juiciest inside of a burger patty that you have ever bitten. And as you start chewing you realize something else, the taste of the burger is different, amazingly so, I can not just put my hand on it really, but bear with me. In nearly all burgers, the king of the taste is the garnish, the patty does have taste but its flavor is secondary to the garnish. That is why people that like a cheese burger will always order a cheese burger, because what they crave the the mixture of the tastes of the beef patty and the cheese. But in this burger things are different, the beef itself has a character and taste that would make it stand on its own. The taste is really hard to define, it is the taste of meat only much brighter or amplified. It is like eating a steak with gravy not on top, but within.
